Relentless Ends VSO's Champion Reign, Gaining Ticket to Uno League Finals
The reigning champions are out. In the 8th week of Season 2 of the Uno League, Relentless shocked the league by eliminating defending champs VSO in the semifinals, winning 68-55 and booking their spot in the finals. For VSO, the dynasty talk ends here, as the team left the court without even speaking to the media after the defeat.
This matchup was all about revenge. Last season, Relentless were sent home in the semifinals by VSO, and that memory lingered all year. On Thursday night, they flipped the script with a gritty, balanced performance. Melo's inside scoring, TTK Nunnz's all-around dominance, and MP's rebounding avalanche broke the champs down possession by possession.
Inside the interview room, Relentless alumni player Yodawg couldn't hide his joy, knowing what this win meant after last year's heartbreak. FK fired shots when asked about eliminating VSO, saying: "We beat them a few weeks ago, they said we gonna see you in the playoffs, we see them in the playoffs, pack again." He didn't stop there, adding: "Half the team ran away, Rdogg I don't know where he's at, I think he's dancing on a yacht. Pv said watch when I play, look at him, pack again." The tension between the two squads was as real as the scoreboard.
Relentless spread the damage with TTK Nunnz dropping 18 points and 9 rebounds, Melo putting up 16 points and 5 boards, and MP dominating the glass with 16 rebounds to go with 9 points. AK added 13 with 4 assists. For VSO, Cy carried the load with 20 points and 7 rebounds, while Stevoo chipped in 8 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists. But the defending champs lacked depth and energy, finishing with just 55 points on 20 made field goals. With the win, Relentless marches to the Uno League Finals, while VSO's season ends in silence.
